Aquarium time lapse - The effects of water circulation and surface agitation on CO2 level. The green square in the middle is a reference color showing a high level of CO2. The video begins with the circulation pump turned off. There is CO2 injection, so the CO2 level is high and goes up through the day as CO2 is added. At night, the CO2 injection is turned off. When the circulation pump is turn...

I think what you shown to us is not cabomba but actually it is ambulia...im not so sure of this ascertion of mine but hope somebody gives light on this one.

Kleo, this is lovely. Tack så mycket.
Cryptocoryne used slap -1 hp
Beautiful timelapse.
Ooooo
Could you please make a test with a fan only. I'm using fan for cooling without pump, just curious how it's effect co2 level.
Nice, I would recommend slowing it down by half or maybe even a quarter.
Cool
Nice
love it
Why isn't there a day light like shadows patern?
sublime video :D do you use some kind of land as sustrate????
where did you get that co2 meter?
+Pablo Gomez It came with the CO2 set (JBL proflora)
Kleo Mjavkat I have Parrot Feather (Myriophyllum aquaticum) and it does the same opening and closing with the day/light cycle. Neat video. Thanks for sharing. #aquarium
I'm having problems with maintaining a decent co2 level during the day because of my sump. Since it's open to the air and the water falls over the baffles (and also the upper overflow) it seems to completely counteract the co2, even at 4bps my drop checker stays a turquoise color. I've adjusted the outlet of the pump so it doesn't agitate the surface in the top tank and that seems to have helped a bit. I think next I will fit my in line co2 diffuser in the hope that the water oxygenated by the sump is infused with co2 before it gets back into the tank... or maybe make the sump air tight to an extent? Either way I know I can't afford to run 4bps+ :/
+ss ss It's important to use the right CO2 diffuser / reactor. I use the Aqua Medic Co2 reactor 1000, and it gives good results. I can use only half the dose now.
The high-pitched noise is the blue vacuum cleaning car - the tracks are dirty, so the vacuum cleaner gets an unstable power supply, hence the varying tone.
Why does It go in and out
01fishaquarium It's the day and night cycle. It goes out in daytime and in at night.
Very nice Video !!
Thank you for the wonderful comments :-) I only use standard cheap substrate, however, I also use CO2 injection and fertilizer. CO2 + fertilizer is very important, more important than I thought ... a bacteria culture in the substrate can be added when the substrate is added (dry), but I forgot that. However, the bacteria culture in the substrate develops over time. This bacteria culture is important for the plant growth, because it converts ammonia to nitrite and nitrate. Actually, without this bacteria culture nothing would grow, and ammonia would reach poisonous levels for the fish. So the most important thing for plant growth is the bacteria culture in the substrate - not the substrate itself. Some substrate types are better for developing bacteria culture and holding on to micro-nutrients in the fertilizer than others, but the cheap substrate works fine for most plants. Check out my homepage for some tips. www.chil.dk/?page=Aquarium
Awesome work. Substrate please?

Agreed. It looks like complete, I guess you Never gravel vac to allow the bacteria to developer over time, I have eco complete on the bottom withithbFlourite black sand. My question is this. Should I continue to not gravel to maintain the colony and create more beneficial bacteria? Can you give any advice? Thanks for the help,
Jason Stroman Gravel vacuum is necessary from time to time. In a river in nature, excess material would just be washed down the stream, but in a fish tank, it can't go anywhere. It falls to the bottom and stays there and builds up. Gravel vacuum won't destroy the bacteria culture, but it may be difficult to do without disturbing the decoration.
@@Jstroman221 buy bottled bacteria, use a turkey baster to draw it up, inject it into your substrate
Nice. What is the exact substrate?
Cool please make more maybe moss?
You may want to check out my homepage - there are some algae-fighting tips. www.chil.dk/?page=Aquarium
it doubled in size after 1 week, amazing. but the algae did grow too, bad luck like me too
U still in it?
Is it pulsating.. Stretching its legs as it grows. Wow.
Omg god. I am doing research on the plant i witch i bought today. 6/3/13. Just 5 in a bunch, They need a lil trim i like to raise them. Can't wait to place them in the tank. Thnk u for the stunning visual.
Yes - I use CO2 injection all the time and fertilizer some of the time. I bought a JBL CO2 set, and it came with fertilizers too.
Good video - can you tell me if you use C02 injection and any ferts? Thanks.
Thank you for sharing - I have red and green cabomba in a 50 gallon tanks - it grows about 8 inches in ten days.
